Jakarta Electric PLN Optimistic to Win Proliga 2026 Title
JAKARTA - Jakarta Electric PLN is very optimistic about being able to lock in the 2026 Proliga title, Indonesia's highest level volleyball league which will start this month until the end of April 2026.
Assistant coach of Jakarta Electric, Alim Suseno, said that his team was really serious about preparing for this year's competition with the support of a good squad composition.
"If the preparations are now more mature because it has been running for two months since November 2025. So, here the preparations from individuals and physical have been formed. Insyaallah we are ready to sail the Proliga this year," he said in Jakarta.
Jakarta Electric PLN is sailing in Proliga 2026 with the same majority of players since last season. In addition, they also brought in foreign players Neriman Ozsoy from Turkey and Celeste Elle Plak from the Netherlands.
Ozsoy is a player with a long track record with the Turkish National Team and is positioned as an outside hitter, while Celeste, who is an opposite hitter, is one of the Netherlands' important pillars and is known to be very explosive.
"If there are changes to the players, there must be, but the majority of the players still come from last season. If the foreign players change both," said Alim.
In addition to the two foreign players above, Jakarta Electric PLN is also filled with a composition of players who have been in the Proliga competition and entered the line-up of the Indonesian National Volleyball Team, such as Agustin Wulandhari, Ersandrina Devega Salsabila, Putri Andya, Poppy Aulia, Afra Hasna Nurhaliza, Khalisa Azalia Rahma, and Dinda Syiffa Ammelia.
In addition, another name in the squad. They are Magda Rasya Azzahra, Tasya Aprilia Putri, Nabila Aura Noor Iskandar, Hanifa Nahda, Afifah, Miva Ratna Sari, Priliyanty Dharma Putri, and Tanisa Nurma Saskia.
Suseno said that in addition to preparation and player composition, they are optimistic that they can compete this year because the compactness of the squad has really been seen.
"If from the perspective, first we talk about the material. All the material is almost the same in the Proliga this year. Don't underestimate anyone, but we will try our best. In a sense, please pray, hopefully we can," he said.
Jakarta Electric PLN is one of the senior women's volleyball clubs in Indonesia. The club, which has been around for 22 years, has collected six championship titles and four runner-up Proliga.
The 2026 Proliga competition will open on January 8. In the women's category, Jakarta Electric will compete with Jakarta Pertamina Enduro, Jakarta Popsivo Polwan, Gresik Phonska Plus Pupuk Indonesia, Jakarta Livin Mandiri, Bandung BJB Tandamata, and Medan Falcons.
