TNI Member Bentrok with Brimob in South Buton, Kadispenad Ensure Dispute Has Been Resolved
JAKARTA - The Head of the TNI AD Information Service (Kadispenad) Brigadier General TNI Donny Pramono explained information about the conflict between TNI AD members and the National Police Brimob on the South Buton football field, Southeast Sulawesi on Sunday (4/1).
Donny responded to the viral video of the attack on several social media accounts, one of which was on the @Infobutonraya Instagram account.
Donny explained that the incident occurred when the two sides competed in a football competition held there.
"So, after the match ended 0-0, there was a moment of mutual mockery between supporters, which then triggered a momentary reaction around the field," said Donny as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, January 5.
The action of mocking each other also triggered a dispute between the two parties that did not last long.
Donny continued, the commanders from the two sides immediately intervened to calm their personnel so that no further acts of violence would occur.
"Danyonif TP 871/Lamaindo together with the local Danramil immediately coordinated with the Batauga Brimob Danyon to calm the personnel and ensure that the situation remains under control," added Donny.
In a short time, the conditions at the location were conducive again and personnel from both parties returned to their respective dormitories. Donny continued that no further commotion occurred between the two parties.
Each commander of the troops has also met and ensured that the problem is resolved within the family.
Donny emphasized that this incident would not disrupt the relationship between the TNI and the National Police, which had been well established.
"We emphasize that the relationship and synergy between the TNI and the Police remain solid. Sports activities are actually a means of building togetherness, and this incident is a joint evaluation so that in the future similar activities can run more orderly and under control," he said.
