Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Reveals Fruits Consumed Every Day to Keep the Body Healthy
JAKARTA - Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin shared his views on the selection of fruits that should be consumed daily. He reminded that each type of fruit has different sugar levels and calorie counts, so they cannot be compared to each other.
Therefore, the selection of fruit is ideally adjusted to the body's needs and daily activities so that the benefits are really felt.
"Some of the fruit have low sugar levels, but some are high," said Health Minister Budi, quoted from Budi Gunadi's Instagram account @bgsadikin.
"Well, if you want to eat fruit every day so you can get vitamins, you can get fiber, you can choose watermelon, or strawberries, or avocados. Moreover, avocados have good fat. These are examples of fruits that are low in calories and sugar," he continued.
The Minister of Health explained that a person's physical activity level has a major impact on daily energy needs. People who regularly move or exercise certainly require more calorie intake than those with low activity.
Therefore, the type of fruit chosen also needs to be adjusted to the condition.
"Well, if you like to run like me and need high calories, the fruits can be like this (bananas, grapes, dates). But, if you don't run every day, don't eat fruit every day," he said.
Budi also touched on his experience in the world of sports, especially running, which often provides certain fruits for participants. The fruits are chosen not without reason, but as a source of quick energy to maintain body performance while exercising.
"But those who like to run must remember that if we run, someone will give us bananas so that we can eat while running to meet our calorie needs." he said.
