Wisman's visit to Indonesia in November 2025 reaches 1.2 million people
JAKARTA - The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reported that the number of foreign tourist visits (wisman) to Indonesia in November 2025 reached 1.20 million visits.
Deputy Head of Distribution and Services Statistics, BPS, Pudji Ismartini, explained that the figure decreased by 11.12 percent compared to the previous month (month to month/mtm), but still recorded a growth of 9.79 percent compared to the same period last year (year on year/yoy).
"In total, the number of tourist visits was 1.20 million or down 11.12 percent on a monthly basis, but on an annual basis it increased by 9.79 percent," he said at a press conference, Monday, January 5.
Cumulatively, the number of tourist visits from January to November 2025 reached 13.98 million visits or grew 10.44 percent compared to the same period in the previous year, indicating the continued recovery of the national tourism sector.
Pudji said that at the beginning of 2025, the number of tourist visits had shown a downward trend, namely in January it was recorded as 1.16 million visits, then decreased to 1.02 million in February, and again decreased to 984,770 visits in March.
Even so, he said that by April 2025, the number of visits had increased again to 1.16 million and continued to increase until it reached its peak in August 2025 with a total of 1.51 million visits.
However, after that, the trend weakened again, namely in September 2025, the number of foreign visitors decreased to 1.39 million and continued to decrease until November 2025 which was recorded at 1.20 million visits.
Based on the type of entrance, BPS noted that in November 2025, as many as 1.02 million inbound tourist visits entered through the main entrance, while 181,670 visits were recorded through the border entrance.
Pudji explained that the majority of visits through the main entrance were using air transport with a share of 79.19 percent, followed by sea transport at 17.06 percent, and land transport at 3.75 percent.
