BYD prepares Song Pro DM-i, launching soon
BYD is preparing to start 2026 with the launch of the Song Pro DM-i SUV which is reported to officially enter the market on January 10, in the Chinese market.
Citing the Carnewschina website, Monday, January 5, based on a report from Autohome, this upcoming variant is positioned as an addition to the existing Song Pro DM-i lineup. It is hoped that this variant will focus on increasing the range of pure electric driving through a larger battery pack in the PHEV segment.
As is known, the latest generation of the Song Pro DM-i was officially launched in China on September 23, 2024. This launch marks the debut of the second generation Song Pro DM-i market, which replaces the previous Song Pro DM-i variant and adopts BYD's latest PHEV system.
In October 2025, BYD introduced the Song Pro DM-i 2026 lineup, with official prices starting at 102,800 yuan or Rp246 million. This update includes several configuration changes, such as a comprehensive parking camera system, external voice commands, motion-based navigation activation, and an active front grille. New exterior color options have also been added to the lineup.
The Song Pro DM-i 2026 is currently equipped with a plug-in hybrid drive system that combines a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engine with an electric motor.
Based on the CLTC testing standard, this model provides a pure electric range of 133 km and a combined range of 1,508 km.
Based on the latest reports, the upcoming long-distance version is expected to adopt a larger battery pack, referring to the Song L DM-i, which achieves a CLTC pure electric range of up to 200 km in its highest configuration.
