ID. Polo All New Appears Different, Volkswagen Returns Physical Buttons and Retro Feel

JAKARTA - Volkswagen is showing off the all-new interior of the ID. Polo for the first time ahead of its launch scheduled for this year. So what's interesting?

Yes, from the images shared, the interesting thing is the presence of a physical button. VW claims that this design offers a glimpse of an interesting view into the interior of its future models. A new holistic design approach, which is formed primarily based on customer feedback, will define the cockpit of the upcoming new ID models.

Its features include new clarity and quality, as well as intuitive control, with the familiar VW operating pattern adopted and further developed. At the same time, the new generation of software brings new functions to the ID. Polo.

The charm of the 1980s is now present in the vehicle thanks to the retro look, with a single press of a button, the digital instrument display changes to a screen display reminiscent of the first generation Golf.

Volkswagen Brand Board Member for Technical Development, Kai Grünitz, revealed VW's new interior architecture, starting with the all-new ID. Polo, taking the customer experience to a new level, with clean lines, high-quality materials and an intuitive operating environment with physical buttons and a restructured screen.

"In addition, starting from ID. Polo and beyond, our next generation of software will provide our customers with much better comfort and functionality. This includes, for example, the third generation of Travel Assist, which will soon recognize red traffic lights and stop signs, as well as comfortable one-pedal driving," he said, quoted from the official website, Monday, January 5.

Volkswagen has long been presenting quality and comfort standards in the small and compact car class that are in line with higher vehicle classes. With the all-new ID. Polo, Volkswagen continues this approach in conjunction with the new 'Pure Positive' design language.

Volkswagen Chief Designer, Andreas Mindt, said the all-new ID. Polo is an affordable companion for everyday life. Just like the previous Polo, but now electric.

"We have created an interior that feels like a friend from the first contact. The clear physical buttons provide stability and confidence, the warm material makes it attractive, and charming details such as the new retro look on the instruments show the typical Volkswagen character," said Andreas Mindt.

Two large screens, arranged in parallel in a single line of sight, define the new cockpit architecture. This includes a digital cockpit behind the steering wheel, with a 10.25-inch screen diagonal and a 13-inch touchscreen.

The graphics are high-resolution and precise, and the center screen is easily accessible by the front passenger as well. Separate buttons for AC functions and hazard warning lights are integrated in a strip under the infotainment screen. The multifunctional steering wheel is also completely new, featuring clearly structured button fields.
