JAKARTA - PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk projects the peak of the 2026 New Year's holiday return flow to the Jabotabek area to occur today, where as many as 196,000 vehicles are estimated to cross four main toll gates (GT) as the New Year's holiday period ends.

"Jasa Marga predicts that the peak of the flow back to the Jabotabek area will occur today, namely Sunday, January 4," said Rivan in an official statement, Sunday, January 4.

Rivan said that to anticipate the increase in vehicle volume, Jasa Marga has prepared a number of security measures and traffic arrangements in the field.

"We have prepared various anticipatory steps, ranging from optimizing operational services, arranging traffic at points of high density, readiness of officers and supporting facilities in the field to ensure that road users' journeys remain safe and smooth," he said.

He added that Jasa Marga also carried out intensive coordination with the Police and supported the implementation of the necessary traffic engineering at the discretion of the officers in the field.

Meanwhile, until the end of the H+2 holiday for the 2026 New Year, Jasa Marga recorded as many as 509,351 vehicles had returned to the Jabotabek area.

The figure is the accumulation of traffic flow from four main GTs, namely the Cikupa GT from the Merak direction, the Ciawi GT from the Puncak direction, the Cikampek Utama GT from the Trans Java direction, and the Kalihurip Utama GT from the Bandung direction.

The total traffic volume increased by 19.93 percent compared to normal traffic. Vehicles from the west through Merak were recorded at 138,829 vehicles, while from the south through Puncak were 130,659 vehicles.

Rivan also reminded toll road users to remain vigilant, especially during rainy conditions which can reduce visibility and increase the risk of accidents.

"Jasa Marga also reminds all toll road users to always be careful when driving by maintaining a safe distance," he said.
