JAKARTA - The body of Valencia CF women's football coach Fernando Martin Carreras has finally been found. According to the joint SAR Team, Fernando Martin Carreras' body was found floating in the waters of the Komodo National Park, Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai, NTT.
"Yes, it's true (Valencia CF women's football team coach, Fernando Martin Carreras). The body is of an adult male and a Spanish citizen," said Head of Public Relations of the NTT Police, Kombes Henry Novika Chandra, Sunday, January 4, 2026.
The body of Fernando Martin was found at 08.47 WITA on Seraya Island and Rinca Island, Komodo National Park, Labuan Bajo, on Sunday, January 4, 2026. After being evacuated, the body was taken to Komodo Hospital for examination and identification.
"Visum et repertum and the identification process are still being carried out by the medical team and Biddokkes Polda NTT in accordance with the Disaster Victim Identification (DVI) procedure," said Henry.
According to him, from the results of identifying the victim's body, it was found to match the family data.
"Identification of the victim by matching AM and PM data, both primary and secondary, is in accordance with the Interpol DVI protocol," he said.
