Officials Clean Up Lumpur that Accumulated Due to Flooding in Aceh Tamiang

JAKARTA - Personnel from the Aceh Police's Water and Air Police Directorate (Ditpolairud) who are part of the Aceh Police's Aman Nusa II Task Force have cleaned schools affected by floods in Aceh Tamiang Regency.

Head of Public Relations of the Aceh Police, Kombes Pol Joko Krisdiyanto in Banda Aceh, Sunday, said the cleaning was focused on the study room and the SMP 5 Kejuruan Muda mosque in the jurisdiction of the Simpang Kiri Police, Aceh Tamiang Police.

"Schools were buried in mud when floods hit the area in late November 2025. Mud and the remains of flood materials that settled in the school environment were cleaned so that teaching and learning activities could immediately return to normal," he said.

The middle-ranking officer of the Aceh Police said the cleaning involved 24 personnel from the Aceh Police Ditpolairud. The personnel deployed worked shoulder to shoulder to clean the school from flood materials.

The cleaning of the school was also assisted by a team from the Aceh Tamiang Regency Fire Service. The team sprayed water to deal with the mud that stuck on the floor of the classroom and the mosque.

"Using simple equipment, the personnel together with related agencies cleaned the mud, garbage, and wood materials carried by the flood," he said.

He explained that this gotong royong was a form of the National Police's concern for the world of education as well as a tangible manifestation of the state's presence in the midst of a community affected by disasters.

The Aceh Police hope that the post-flood recovery process in Aceh Tamiang Regency will run faster and provide a sense of security and new spirit for students and teachers in carrying out learning activities.

"This cross-agency synergy helps and accelerates the process of cleaning and restoring school facilities. We hope that this school can be used by children for the learning process which starts on January 5, 2026," said Joko Krisdiyanto.
