2026 New Year's Eve Traffic Increases, JTT Monitors Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Traffic

JAKARTA - PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol (JTT) carries out strict monitoring of vehicle movements during the 2026 New Year holiday return flow on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road.

VP Corporate Secretary and Legal PT JTT, Ria Marlinda Paallo, said that the increase in vehicle volume from east to west on the Trans Java route had been monitored since the morning at the Cikampek Utama Toll Gate (GT). The surge in traffic began to be seen since 06.00 WIB.

He explained that monitoring was carried out intensively to ensure that the journey of toll road users remained smooth, safe, and comfortable during the return period.

According to Ria, the JTT monitors traffic dynamics in real time by ensuring that all operational services function optimally. This readiness includes the operation of transaction substations, the readiness of officers in the field, and coordinated traffic arrangements.

Based on monitoring data, the first sif (06.00-14.00 WIB) on January 4, 2026, a total of 11,484 vehicles passed through the eastern Trans Java area through the Cikampek Utama GT. This figure increased by 55.11 percent compared to normal traffic conditions which were recorded at 7,404 vehicles.

As a step to anticipate the reverse flow, JTT optimizes transaction services at the main toll gate. At the Cikampek Utama GT, 18 transaction gates are operated towards Jakarta and 12 transaction gates towards Trans Java.

This step is supported by increasing the readiness of operational officers and traffic services, as well as intensive coordination with the Traffic Police and related agencies to maintain the smooth flow of vehicles on all Trans Java routes.

In addition to traffic management, the JTT also ensures the readiness of supporting travel facilities, such as rest areas, traffic signs, and information services for road users.

The latest information regarding traffic conditions is conveyed periodically through Dynamic Message Signs (DMS), official social media, and various information channels of the Jasa Marga Group, so that road users can plan their trips better.

The JTT also appealed to toll road users to arrange travel time, ensure that vehicles and driver conditions are in good condition, and always comply with signs and instructions from officers in the field.
