Police Arrest Lampung Network Luxury Car Spy Thief, Often Acting in Jakbar

Grogol Petamburan Police Criminal Unit managed to arrest the perpetrator of the theft of a luxury car spy with the initials AW.

The perpetrator often carried out his theft in a number of areas in West Jakarta.

The Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Grogol Petamburan Police, AKP Alexander Tengbunan, said the arrest of the perpetrator with the initials AW was based on a report from the community.

Armed with the report, the police then conducted an investigation and hunted down the perpetrator. After knowing the whereabouts of the perpetrator, the police then managed to arrest AW somewhere.

"We immediately arrested the perpetrator and took him to the police station for further investigation," he said when confirmed, Sunday, January 4, 2026.

From the results of the preliminary examination, the perpetrator was known to be from the Lampung gang.

The perpetrator is looking for a car spy target in the Grogol Petamburan and Cengkareng areas.

"The modus is to take advantage of the condition of vehicles parked on the side of the road. AW has repeatedly stolen car mirrors in West Jakarta," he said.

Until now, investigators are still investigating the other perpetrators' network.

"We are still investigating, whether the perpetrator acted alone or was part of a group," he said.
