China Strongly Condemns US Actions against Venezuela and President Maduro
JAKARTA - The Chinese government has launched a harsh criticism of the United States' actions, which are considered to be the open use of force against Venezuela, including against President Nicolas Maduro.
The statement was made by a spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry. China expressed its surprise at Washington's move, which it considered an attack on the sovereignty of an independent country and targeted its official leader. Beijing considers the action unjustified in international relations.
"China is deeply shocked and strongly condemns the United States' blatant use of force against a sovereign country and its actions against its president," the spokesperson said.
In its statement, China called on the United States to respect international law and uphold the principles and purposes of the United Nations Charter. The US was also urged to stop all forms of intervention that violated the sovereignty and security of other countries.
According to China, the hegemonic approach taken by the United States has violated international legal provisions, undermined Venezuela's sovereignty, and has the potential to disrupt peace and stability in the Latin American region.
