Gerindra Opens Opportunities For A Coalition With PDIP In The Presidential Election, PKB Wants To Join
JAKARTA - The National Awakening Party (PKB) respects Gerindra and PDI Perjuangan who plan to form a coalition in the 2024 presidential election.
"If you want, go ahead, PKB respects it," said Deputy Chairman of the National Awakening Party (PKB) Jazilul Fawaid at the DPR building, Friday, May 28.
Jazilul said PKB did not close itself to a coalition with Gerindra, PDIP or other parties. Because he said, nation building cannot be done by one group alone.
"In principle, PKB is an inclusive party, and we are also based on the largest Islamic party in Indonesia. As long as the vision is the same, the direction is the same, PKB also hopes that with PDIP, we hope with Gerindra, we hope with existing Islamic parties," he said.
According to him, PKB Chairman Muhaimin Iskandar has also opened communication with a number of party leaders. Among them are Gerindra Party Chairperson Prabowo Subianto, Golkar Party Chairperson Airlangga Hartarto, and PKS President Ahmad Syaikhu.
In fact, he continued, Muhaimin or Gus Ami had also met the Chairman of the PDIP DPP Puan Maharani.
"But all these meetings have not been focused, as I know, they have not focused on certain agreements related to the coalition," said Jazilul.
Previously, the Secretary General (Secretary General) of the Gerindra Party DPP Ahmad Muzani said that his party opened up the opportunity for Prabowo Subianto to be paired with a cadre of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP). The reason is that the two party leaders have a good relationship.
"Our good relationship with the PDIP, Pak Prabowo's good relationship with Ibu Mega, I think all of you already know, since he has not been appointed as Minister of Defense," Muzani said in Jakarta, Thursday, May 27.
"And until now the relationship is good there is no problem and it is a possibility that there will be an opportunity for Pak Prabowo to advance with the PDIP," he added.
