Public Satisfaction with the Jokowi Government is High According to the Survey of Indicators in Memory Today, January 4, 2023

JAKARTA - Remembering today, three years ago, January 4, 2023, as a survey, the Indonesian Political Indicator revealed that public satisfaction with President Joko Widodo's (Jokowi) government performance was still high. Jokowi's total received a figure of 71.3 percent who claimed to be satisfied.

Previously, the Jokowi government in the two-term period was often tested with various trials. The biggest trial was the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic. The presence of the pandemic made the whole of Indonesia panic. Indonesia is threatened with falling into the abyss of recession.

Jokowi was able to complete his duties as the first Indonesian leader - 2014 to 2019. However, this condition did not make Jokowi feel satisfied. He returned to the political contestation stage of the 2019 Presidential Election.

He felt that his programs in the first term of office needed to be continued. Jokowi is also convinced that all Indonesian people still love him as the President of Indonesia. The results are brilliant. Jokowi continued his power in the second term.

Instead of his two-term power running smoothly, the Jokowi government was flooded with criticism. Moreover, when Jokowi started to embrace politics. Jokowi wants to eliminate the opposition narrative in the government. He invites his political opponents, Prabowo Subianto to join the government.

Not to mention, ministers who are considered to have good achievements are replaced by Jokowi. Criticism of Jokowi is still not dry, but new problems have just emerged. Indonesia was then hit by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The virus from Wuhan not only brought panic and death. But, it also helped to destroy Indonesia's economy. Economic activity is disrupted. The government is also criticized in waves for being unable to break the chain of transmission of the corona virus.

The slow movement of the government is also felt to have a big impact. Indonesia is seen to be falling into the abyss of recession. A nightmare that has been created by the pandemic in other countries.

"Data from three international institutions, this 2020 almost all countries are in recession, with growth of -5 to approaching -8 percent. The geopolitical tension in the United States (US), will affect global economy and politics because it is the largest country today. This must be watched out for. "

"Recovery will slow down a little. Why? because the development of COVID-19 in Indonesia has not reached its peak, it is still increasing. From day to day, rapid tests are carried out, it is likely that the number of positive people will increase," said Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia (BI), Destry Damayanti as quoted by the lamankompas.com, July 20, 2020.

All kinds of problems that occurred in the Jokowi two-term government left a mark. Many consider public satisfaction with the performance of the Jokowi two-term government decreased compared to the first period.

In fact, it is not in line with the results of the opinion poll conducted by the Indonesian Political Indicator. The survey agency revealed the results of a survey related to public satisfaction with Jokowi remained high on January 4, 2023.

Jokowi received a public satisfaction rate of 71.3 percent. The rest of them who were dissatisfied were only 23.6 percent, while those who were not satisfied at all were at 3.5 percent. The dissatisfaction was on average with the reason that the prices of basic goods increased until Jokowi did not side with the small people.

The indicator also confirms that the survey was conducted on December 1-6, 2022. The method used is multistage random sampling. The indicator then conducted face-to-face interviews involving 1,220 respondents from various backgrounds.

"(So) about 71.3 percent of national citizens are quite or very satisfied with Jokowi's performance as President," said Burhanudin Muhtadi, Executive Director of Indonesian Political Indicators, in a virtual press conference as quoted by the lamankompas.com, January 4, 2023.
