Minister Of Health Corrects Report Card E Handling COVID-19 Deputy Minister Of Health To DKI, Apparently The Assessment Is Just A Simulation

JAKARTA - Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin has clarified the problem of handling the pandemic with an E report card or at worst to the DKI Jakarta Province.

Budi explained that the assessment described by Deputy Health Minister, Deputy Health Minister Dante Saksono Harbuwono, in a joint working meeting with the DPR Commission IX, Thursday, May 27, still uses indicators that are still in the form of simulations or experiments.

"To be honest, I also just discussed these figures or general guidelines about 4 weeks ago. We are currently studying how the application is suitable or not. We are currently conducting simulations in several regions, be it provinces, regencies and cities," he said. Budi in the Indonesian Ministry of Health's Youtube broadcast, Friday, May 28.

Budi emphasized that the risk indicator for the rate of transmission to handling of COVID-19 that Dante conveyed was a risk indicator based on the latest WHO guidelines.

There is also an indicator for assessing the handling of a pandemic in each province, seen from the level of transmission rate, namely indicators of the number of cases, the presence of imported cases, the emergence of case clusters, to the transmission of cases on a community scale.

Then, the level of transmission rate is juxtaposed with the level of the provincial government response capacity in handling cases, namely testing, tracing, and treatment (3T).

Moreover, this indicator is used as an internal analysis at the Ministry of Health to see how we prepare for the spike in cases after the Eid holiday yesterday.

"This risk indicator, I emphasize, is not, again, not an assessment of the performance of the regions, either province, district or city. It is a risk indicator used by the Ministry of Health internally to see the rate of pandemic transmission and how we must respond," he explained. .

Budi also admitted that the Ministry of Health still needs to explore whether to add other indicators in assessing the handling of COVID-19 based on previous experience.

"With all humility, I would like to say that there are still many opportunities for us to improve ourselves. There are still a lot of things that we can imitate from other countries, we can also imitate areas that are well implemented," said Budi.

Budi said that DKI Jakarta was the province with the highest contribution of testing and vaccination. "Regarding testing, I see the most number of all provinces in DKI. Then vaccination, I can say that the three provinces with the most aggressive vaccinations are DKI, Bali, and Jogja," he concluded.

Previously, Dante said DKI Jakarta was the only province with a pandemic handling score with a red report card or an E.

"We see that there are still many who are still in control, except for Jakarta. Jakarta has E capacity, because the BOR (filling of the bed) has started to increase and the tracing cases are not too good," said Dante.

"Based on the recommendations we made a matrix, there are several regions that have entered category D and category E such as Jakarta. But some are still in C, meaning that BOR is not too (filled) and provincial control is still good," he explained.
