PLN Assures Restoration of Electricity to 176 Isolated Villages in Aceh after the Disaster

JAKARTA - PT PLN (Persero) continues to strive to restore the electricity distribution network in Aceh after the disaster which has an impact on damage to electrical infrastructure. Currently, acceleration of repairs continues to be sought in 176 villages that have not been lit from a total of 6,500 villages in Aceh Province.

PLN President Director, Darmawan Prasodjo, said that difficult terrain and broken road access were the main challenges for mobilizing materials and personnel to affected locations.

"PLN continues to ensure that all recovery efforts continue to run gradually in isolated villages, including 68 villages in Central Aceh, 40 villages in Gayo Lues, 38 villages in Bener Meriah, 20 villages in East Aceh, 6 villages in Aceh Tamiang, 2 villages in Bireuen, 1 village in North Aceh and 1 village in Aceh Bara," said Darmawan, quoted Saturday, January 3.

He ensured that PLN was committed to continuing to restore electricity in Aceh until all communities could enjoy reliable electricity.

"We understand that the conditions on the ground are very challenging, but our commitment remains the same. No citizen is left in the dark. PLN officers are ready to attack access as small as possible to accelerate repairs so that electricity can be turned on and community activities can run normally," said Darmawan.

He added that the recovery efforts were carried out through cross-sectoral coordination with various parties, including the TNI, Polri, local governments, and local communities, to ensure access to the location can be passed and the process of mobilizing materials runs more optimally.

"PLN is committed to carrying out the government's direction to ensure that the restoration of electricity in Aceh runs optimally. All our teams are moving with a spirit of togetherness, coordinating with the TNI, Polri, local government, and local communities so that every stage of recovery can be carried out safely and accurately," said Darmawan.

General Manager of PLN Distribution Parent Unit (UID) Aceh, Eddi Saputra explained that his party had mapped the crucial points that were the priority for recovery.

"Currently, there are still 176 villages that have not been lit because access to the location is still being improved. However, our team has been on standby at the nearest posts and is ready to accelerate repairs as soon as conditions allow," explained Eddi.

Eddi added that PLN ensured that all stages of work were carried out by paying attention to the aspects of work safety for both personnel and the community.

"The entire team works with the principle of caution, prioritizing safety, but remains responsive and measured so that the recovery process can run optimally," concluded Eddi.
