Police Value Analyst Successfully Controls National Security Throughout 2025, Transformation 2026 is Anticipated

JAKARTA - Legal and political analyst, Boni Hargens, assessed that the National Police Institution under the leadership of National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo marked a commitment to a strategic role in escorting the government of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka in 2025. According to Boni, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit successfully escorted national security and stability in the one year of Prabowo-Gibran's government throughout 2025.

"The National Police has succeeded in carrying out its strategic role in maintaining national security stability, enforcing justice, and providing humanitarian and responsive public services to all Indonesian people," Boni said in a statement, Saturday, January 3.

Boni said that the leadership of the National Police Chief was marked by an innovative approach to law enforcement, strengthening institutional integrity, and a commitment to building a more transparent, accountable, and community-oriented National Police.

First, he said, the National Police managed to carry out the task of securing national agendas professionally and transparently throughout 2025, supporting the stability of the Prabowo-Gibran government.

"Then, the implementation of disciplined, fair, and just law enforcement is a top priority in maintaining the supremacy of law in Indonesia. Also, the strengthening of the role of the National Police in the rule of law is reflected through public services that are increasingly humanistic, responsive, and oriented towards public satisfaction," he said.

In 2025, continued Boni, the National Police showed good performance in supporting the Prabowo-Gibran government through various strategic programs that strengthen national security stability.

He also revealed several achievements of the National Police throughout 2025, one of which was a decrease in the crime rate. Boni said the crime rate had dropped significantly thanks to consistent law enforcement and effective prevention strategies.

"Public confidence has increased dramatically through transparency and accountability in services. Then, the effectiveness of handling cases has increased rapidly with the support of technology and high professionalism," he said.

Not only that, the National Police is also considered active and professional in supporting disaster management in Sumatra, ensuring that residents are saved, helped in terms of housing, food, and health.

The ranks of the Bhayangkara Corps were also considered successful in securing various strategic national agendas, showing a high level of professionalism, cross-agency coordination, and operational readiness from all ranks of the National Police.

On the other hand, Boni said he was optimistic that the Polri institution would undergo a transformation in 2026. He assessed that the National Police would undergo a significant cultural transformation that would not only strengthen the internal capacity of the institution, but also provide maximum support in realizing the government's Asta Cita agenda.

"This transformation reflects hard work, high discipline, and a firm commitment to self-reform in carrying out the duties and roles of the National Police as guardians of democracy and the rule of law in Indonesia," he said.

This cultural transformation, he continued, will not only strengthen the internal capacity of institutions, but also directly contribute to supporting the great vision of the Prabowo-Gibran government through the Asta Cita agenda.

"The systematic and measurable reform process produces a more modern, transparent, accountable, and service-oriented police force with high-quality public services. The police also become a strategic partner of the government in realizing the Asta Cita agenda, especially in maintaining security stability and just law enforcement," said Boni.

Boni hopes that the National Police Chief and his staff will always maintain their commitment in the framework of the transformation and strengthening of the rule of law in Indonesia.

Sustainable and structured internal reforms are expected to produce a National Police that is not only more modern in terms of technology and infrastructure, but also in terms of mindset, work culture, and organizational values.

"Transparency in every policy and operation, accountability at every level of position, and a strong orientation on public satisfaction and service are the main pillars of the transformation that is expected to be fully embedded in the DNA of the National Police organization in 2026," said Boni.
