North Sumatra Governor asks four officials to work quickly to handle post-disaster
North Sumatra (Sumut) Governor Bobby Nasution asked four new officials to work faster and more accurately, especially in handling hydrometeorological disasters in the province at the end of November last year.
"I ask for quick and proper work because we need acceleration, especially post-disaster recovery," said Bobby Nasution after appointing four high-ranking officials (level II) in the North Sumatra Provincial Government (Pemprov), North Sumatra Governor's Office, quoted by Antara, Saturday, January 3.
The governor said that these four high-ranking pratama officials have a very crucial role in handling post-hydrometeorological disasters in the North Sumatra region.
The North Sumatra Provincial Housing and Settlement Agency (Perkim) is handling the acceleration of the construction of permanent housing (huntap) for refugees affected by floods and landslides.
The Ministry of Housing and Spatial Planning (PKP) has laid the first stone for the construction of four regency/city huntap on the Pinangsori Hajj Dormitory Land, Central Tapanuli, North Sumatra, Sunday (21/12).
Covering 200 huntap areas of the Sports Arena in Sibolga, 118 huntap areas of the Pinangsori Hajj Dormitory in Central Tapanuli, 103 huntap villages of Sibalanga in North Tapanuli, and 227 huntap of the Hapesong Rubber Plantation owned by PTPN IV in South Tapanuli.
The four eselon II were inaugurated, namely Rahmat Hidayat Siregar as Head of the Perkim Office, Nurbaiti Harahap as Head of the Capital Investment and One-Stop Service Office (DPMPTSP), Illyan Chandra as Head of the Social Office, and Sri Suraiani Purnamawati as Director of the Special UPTD of the Prof M Ildrem Mental Hospital.
"For example, Perkim, is involved in handling the development of huntap," said Bobby.
Meanwhile, the North Sumatra Provincial DPMPTSP, he continued, overcame the impact of hydrometeorological disasters on economic slowdown.
"For the Social Service, it is necessary to collaborate with the Ministry of Social Affairs to help disaster victims, and the Mental Hospital to recover the mental health of disaster victims," explained Bobby.
The Governor also reminded again that the meaning of collaborative work which is the tagline "North Sumatra Collaboration is Blessed towards a Superior, Progressive and Sustainable North Sumatra".
He asked all ASN in the North Sumatra Provincial Government environment to understand it not only to work together, but the results of collaborative work are maximized by the community.
"In 2026 there are many PR (homework) that we must complete, including post-disaster completion. I ask for help in interpreting the collaboration as speed and accuracy," said Bobby.
