Ruben Amorin insists some of MU's pillar players are still absent when facing Leeds United
JAKARTA - Manchester United (MU) coach Ruben Amorim said his team was without several key players against Leeds United in the 20th week of the English League at Elland Road Stadium, Leeds, Sunday (4/1).
Quoted by Antara from the club's official website, Friday, Amorim said MU was still without Matthijs de Ligt, Harry Maguire, Kobbie Mainoo, Mason Mount and Bruno Fernandes.
Amorim said the players were still not recovered for the match against Leeds, but he was still monitoring the condition of his children until the match.
The Portuguese coach explained that in addition to the names above, all other players are ready to be sent down to face Leeds.
"We will play without any new problems, without any different problems. We'll see tomorrow, we still have one more training session. I don't think anyone will recover, but we'll see later," said Amorim.
Apart from the five players, The Red Devils will still not be strengthened by players who will compete in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, namely Amad Diallo, Bryan Mbeumo and Noussair Mazraoui.
In the match against Leeds United, Manchester United is determined to target full points to be able to return to the winning track in the English League.
Manchester United wants to return to winning ways after last week they had to settle for just one point when hosting Wolves at Old Trafford last Wednesday.
The additional three points are very important for Manchester United at this time who are competing to break into the top four of the English League standings.
