Kemenag Catat 440 Madrasah Terdampak Bencana di Aceh Siap Gelar Pembelajaran Tatap Muka
JAKARTA - The Aceh Regional Office of the Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) stated that as many as 440 of the 500 madrasahs at all levels affected by the flood and landslide disasters in Aceh are ready to welcome face-to-face learning (PBM) on January 5, 2026.
"Based on the data on the readiness of the affected districts/cities, 440 madrasahs are ready for PBM on January 5," said the Head of the Emergency Response Task Force for the Aceh Regional Office of the Ministry of Religion, Khairul Azhar, as reported by ANTARA, Friday, January 2.
For the affected madrasah that are not ready to welcome PBM in January, there are 60 schools.
However, efforts to implement PBM continue to be pursued with an emergency system.
"Meanwhile, the 60 madrasahs that are not ready are still in process, how many classes first, for example, only five classes are ready, then learning for the first five classes," he said.
Khairul said that for schools that were lost, collapsed or could no longer be used, his party had sought alternative learning, such as in emergency tents, or temporary relocation to certain places.
For example, MIN 5 Pidie Jaya in Seunong Village, Meurah Dua District, Pidie Jaya Regency, which has been lost due to flooding, children are accommodated to study at the local village learning center.
"Then in other areas it is the same, if it is no longer possible, they mean in places of refuge," said Khairul.
Apart from those affected by the flood, continued Khairul, for the time being there is also a madrasah that is used as a point of refuge for residents who were evacuated due to the activity of the Mount Burni Telong volcano in Bener Meriah Regency (on standby status).
"Burni Telong is turbulent, so there are madrasahs that are used as refugee shelters. Our madrasahs are many in Bener Meriah and Central Aceh as refugee shelters," he said.
He emphasized that so far his party continues to coordinate with officers in the area to provide learning facilities in tents or find other places that may be used temporarily.
"Insyaallah we are trying as much as possible. If it is not in the emergency tent, it means finding another location that is possible," concluded Khairul Azhar.
