Danantara will hand over 600 temporary housing for flood victims in Aceh

JAKARTA - The Danantara Investment Management Agency (BPI) will carry out the handover process of 600 temporary housing units for flood and landslide victims in Aceh.

The housing built in less than two weeks has shown a significant acceleration.

A total of 600 temporary housing units will be handed over to the Regional Government on January 8, 2026, which will then be given to disaster-affected residents. Construction will continue to be completed with a target of 15,000 units in the next three months.

Danantara Rosan Roeslani's Chief Executive Officer (CEO) said that the temporary housing was built according to the standard of emergency housing eligibility, namely a safe structure, access to clean water, adequate sanitation, and electricity and health service support.

In addition, said Rosan, the construction also adapts to social needs so that residents can return to activities, equipped with public facilities such as clinics, playgrounds, and internet and electricity access without cost.

According to Rosan, the achievement of Huntara's development until the beginning of this year is inseparable from the hard work and synergy of cross-parties, especially the active role of SOEs in supporting the execution in the field.

"The target for the construction of the Danantara Housing House in Aceh Tamiang was clearly set from the beginning, and the achievement as of January 1, 2026 shows the strong commitment of all parties to meet it. SOEs are moving quickly, working in the field in difficult conditions, to ensure that the community immediately gets decent housing," he said in an official statement, Friday, January 2.

Furthermore, Rosan emphasized that temporary housing or Huntara is not just a short-term solution, but rather part of a larger recovery phase.

"This huntara is an important bridge to the permanent residential phase and the recovery of the community's economy. Therefore, quality and sustainability remain the main concern," he added.

The first phase of the Huntara development is the result of a collaboration between state-owned enterprises that move quickly under the coordination of Danantara Indonesia and the BUMN Peduli umbrella program.

PT Perkebunan Nusantara III (Persero) provides land for development, while seven BUMN Karya are involved in the construction of hundreds of Huntara units with acceleration and modular systems - led by PT Hutama Karya (Persero) as a field coordinator, together with PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk, PT Brantas Abipraya (Persero), PT PP (Persero) Tbk, PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk, PT Adhi Karya (Persero) Tbk, and PT Nindya Karya (Persero).

Support for basic infrastructure is also strengthened by PT PLN (Persero) which ensures the availability of electricity, as well as PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk which provides communication connectivity in the Huntara area. On the financing and logistics needs fulfillment side, the State-Owned Bank Association (Himbara) - through Bank Mandiri, BRI, BNI, and BTN - together with BSI has deployed resources to accelerate recovery and ensure the development process continues.

Meanwhile, Danantara Indonesia's Chief Operating Officer (COO) Dony Oskaria highlighted the discipline of execution and the intensity of state-owned enterprises' work in pursuing tight time targets.

"The construction of the Danantara Housing House was carried out within a very limited time frame. SOEs work with high intensity, accelerating construction, procurement of materials, to simultaneous quality supervision so that the target can be achieved before the beginning of the year," he explained.

According to Dony, close coordination between Danantara Indonesia and the implementing SOEs, local governments, and ministries is the main factor in maintaining the progress of development in accordance with the plan.

"This is a concrete example of how SOEs carry out their strategic role as an extension of the state, not only business-oriented, but also social and humanitarian interests," he said.

In the future, the government together with SOEs and related stakeholders will continue the recovery efforts to the next stage, including strengthening people's livelihoods through various local economic empowerment programs.

Aceh Tamiang Regency is one of the most severely affected areas due to flash floods and large landslides that occurred at the end of November 2025 due to extreme hydrometeorological disasters.

This disaster hit almost all sub-districts and affected more than 100,000 people, with thousands of houses damaged from mild to severe damage, as well as extensive damage to roads, bridges, embankments, educational facilities, health services, places of worship, and community economic activity centers.

Entering December 31, 2025, Aceh Tamiang is in a transition phase from emergency response to early recovery, with urgent needs for decent temporary housing, the restoration of hundreds of kilometers of basic infrastructure, and the rehabilitation of thousands of hectares of productive land so that the community can return to living a safe and dignified life.
