This Year Bali Will Implement Checks on Savings Accounts for Foreigners
Bali - The Bali Provincial Government (Pemprov) plans that starting in 2026 foreign tourists (wisman) who come will be of quality by ensuring the amount of savings money they have.
"One aspect that is considered for quality tourism is how much money the last three months in the savings book," said Bali Governor Wayan KosterdiGianyar, Thursday.
In addition to checking savings, he said, every foreign tourist who wants to enter Bali will be checked on the time of stay that will be taken and the activities that will be carried out during the visit.
"This is so that everything is under control, just like when we travel to other countries, with the policies of other countries like that we will do the same thing," he said.
In front of the Minister of Tourism, he first explained that the number of foreign tourists throughout 2025 was 7.050 million people through air routes and 71 thousand people through sea routes.
In the history of tourism in Bali, this number of visits is the highest of the year, the increase is felt year after year after the COVID-19 pandemic subsided.
In 2022, the tourism business association continued to encourage the Bali Provincial Government to open access to foreign tourists, providing many facilities, until finally tourists came to the beach and were difficult to filter.
"Everything is deployed so that people want to come to Bali, that's what is happening now, so be it (wisman) delicious, now we have to overcome and overcome it can't be a day or two, it takes patience," said Koster.
The Bali Provincial Government is aware that many unpleasant situations occur, but instead of blaming garbage, congestion, and flooding, he emphasized the need for regulatory improvements.
The central government has not targeted the number of visits in 2026, but the local government wants Bali not to stop at the target of the number of visits but to switch to pursuing quality tourism.
Therefore, he said, ensuring who the foreign tourists are who are allowed to enter and not being important, to ensure that when they are in Bali they do not do anything but bring positive impacts, especially for the tourism economy sector.
"In the future, we will start to move towards quality tourism, so not just in terms of quantity, but quality that is designed through regional regulations, the management of tourism," said Governor Koster.
