KPK Again Investigates Allegations Of 'Playing' In The Case Of The Mayor Of Cimahi

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) continues to investigate the alleged bribery for the termination of a case that ensnared an investigator from the police, Stepanus Robin Pattuju. One of them is by examining the former Mayor of Cimahi, Ajay Muhammad Priatna.

"Located at Sukamiskin Bandung Prison, the KPK investigating team has finished examining witnesses," said Acting KPK spokesman for the prosecution sector Ali Fikri to reporters, Friday, May 28.

Apart from Ajay, the KPK also examined two other people, namely Radian Azhar and Saeful Bahri. Both are private parties in the bribery case that ensnared Ajay regarding the construction of a hospital in Cimahi City.

Investigations to investigate the suspicion of dismissal of the case were also carried out at the Cimahi City Government (Pemkot) office. Three witnesses were questioned on Thursday, May 28, namely a private party named Yanti Rahmayanti, Ajay's aide, Iwan Nugraha, and Ajay's driver named Evodia Dimas.

"All witnesses have their knowledge investigated, among others, regarding the alleged gift of money by Ajay Muhammad Priatna to certain parties on behalf of the SRP suspect (Stepanus Robin Pattuju)," said Ali.

The KPK is actually going to examine two other witnesses from the private sector, Usman Effendi and Yayan Heryanto. However, both were absent and did not provide any confirmation.

"Therefore, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) urges cooperation to immediately attend the summons to the investigation team which will be sent immediately," said Ali.

Previously, the Mayor of Cimahi, Ajay M Priyatna, recently admitted that someone who claimed to be a KPK investigator had asked for Rp. 5 billion for money. This confession was conveyed in court when he was a defendant who received bribes related to infrastructure development in Cimahi City.

Meanwhile, Stepanus Robin Pattuju is a KPK investigator who is a suspect in accepting bribes. He received a bribe from the Mayor of Tanjungbalai M Syahrial amounting to Rp1.3 billion for an attempt to stop the investigation of alleged corruption in the sale and purchase of positions.
