BGN Builds 19,188 SPPGs Throughout 2025 to Support the MBG Program
JAKARTA - The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) has recorded that it has built as many as 19,188 Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) throughout 2025 as part of preparations for the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) Program nationwide.
Head of BGN, Dadan Hindayana, said that the construction of SPPG in 2025 was focused on strengthening the service foundation before MBG was fully implemented in 2026. In the initial phase, BGN only started with 190 SPPG which then developed rapidly until the end of the year.
"In 2025 we use it to build a strong foundation. From 190 SPPG at the beginning of the year to 19,188 SPPG at the end of the year, this shows massive and measurable work in preparing MBG services," Dadan said in an official statement in Jakarta, Thursday, January 1.
He emphasized that this achievement is an important milestone in the development of a sustainable national nutrition fulfillment system and enables the MBG program to enter 2026 with more mature readiness.
BGN is scheduled to start on January 8, 2026 to carry out the MBG Program simultaneously in various regions of Indonesia, with a target to serve around 55.1 million beneficiaries from the first day of implementation.
"Starting January 8, 2026, MBG will directly serve more than 55 million beneficiaries. In 2026, MBG will not only focus on nutritional interventions, but also on improving the quality of SPPG services and strengthening nutritional education," said Dadan.
According to him, strengthening nutritional education is important so that the community has a better understanding in choosing healthy and nutritious foods, as well as building healthy consumption patterns from an early age.
In the future, the government targets the number of beneficiaries of the MBG Program to continue to increase to 82.9 million people, in line with the expansion of service coverage and the improvement of the quality of program implementation throughout Indonesia.
