Prabowo Tries to Visit Aceh - Sumatra Areas Affected by Major Disasters

ACEH TAMIANG - President Prabowo Subianto is trying to visit areas in Aceh that were heavily affected by floods and landslides.

He conveyed this in a limited meeting with 10 ministers as well as the Governor of Aceh Muzakir Manaf, Deputy Governor of Aceh Fadhlullah, and Regent of Aceh Tamiang Armia Pahmi at the location of the Danantara Housing House construction in Aceh Tamiang, Aceh, Thursday.

"I have conveyed this to the Governor, the Minister of Home Affairs, Insya Allah I will try to visit the areas that have a big impact," said Prabowo.

Prabowo said he received reports from the Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian and a number of governors regarding the many districts that questioned the President's presence in their region.

Prabowo also apologized for not being able to reach all affected points. However, he emphasized that his presence was prioritized in locations where important activities were taking place.

"I haven't been able to go to all the points, but I choose or I am advised to be present in places where there are important activities, and although all regions are certainly experiencing great difficulties," said the President.

On the same occasion, the Head of State also conveyed New Year greetings in the midst of a disaster situation.

The President expressed his appreciation to all elements of the government who went directly to the field, including ministries and agencies that took the initiative to conduct reviews in various affected areas and points.

Prabowo emphasized that the government's presence at the disaster site was to see the conditions on the ground to find out the problems faced by the community, so that the handling steps could be carried out properly.

"We share, share areas, various points to check, check, find problems, we come again not for us to want, we want to say just to see, but we come to see to find out the problem yes," said Prabowo.
