Anthony Joshua Leaves Hospital After Tragic Accident

JAKARTA - British heavyweight boxer Anthony Joshua (AJ) has left the hospital in Nigeria days after he was involved in a fatal car accident that killed two close friends.

The governments of the states of Ogun and Lagos said in their statements that the two-time former heavyweight world champion was healthy enough to continue his recovery at home. They also said that Joshua looked very sad at the loss of his friends.

The 36-year-old boxer was a passenger in a Lexus SUV that collided with a truck that was stopped on a major highway in Ogun state, near Lagos, on Monday earlier this week.

The two friends who died in the accident were Sina Ghami and Latif Ayodele. They are a coaching team that has helped Joshua in his career journey so far.

In the same statement, the governments of the states of Ogun and Lagos said that after leaving the hospital, Joshua immediately visited the mortuary where the bodies of his friends were being prepared for repatriation.

Joshua had an accident just weeks after returning to the ring to fight Jake Paul, a YouTube star who has just entered the world of professional boxing. AJ won by knockout (KO) in the lopsided match.

The 2012 London Olympics gold medallist has big plans for this year. He is being linked with several names after his victory over Paul, including against compatriot Tyson Fury.

Fighting Fury is a fight that many boxing fans in the world are waiting for. The winner of the duel will get the status as the heavyweight king in England.

Fury, who has retired after suffering a second defeat against Oleksandr Usyk, is ready to come down for the duel. Only the Gypsy King fighter wants to duel if he gets the right pay.
