Euphoria New Year's Eve 2026 at HI Roundabout, DKI Residents Enjoy Capital Artist Action

JAKARTA - Rain showers the Jakarta sky on New Year's Eve 2026, not excluding the points of celebration on New Year's Eve. However, the rain did not dampen the enthusiasm of residents celebrating New Year's Eve at the Hotel Indonesia Roundabout (HI).

HI roundabout is the central point of the 2026 New Year's Eve celebration held by the DKI Provincial Government. DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung and the DKI Provincial Government are scheduled to attend and enliven the event.

The rain fell around 21.00 WIB, right when people started to crowd the HI roundabout area. Some people had prepared umbrellas and still watched the music and entertainment performances on the main stage.

Some of them also bought raincoats sold by traders on the MH Thamrin Street and General Sudirman Street, Central Jakarta.

They came with family members, while a number of young people were seen present with their respective partners to welcome the warmth of the New Year's Eve in the area.

The public was also observed crowding the area in front of the large stage located in front of the TransJakarta HI Astra Stop. They enjoyed the DJ music performance brought by a number of artists.

A number of musicians are scheduled to perform, including d'Masiv, Marion Jola, Feel Koplo, Andmesh, and Gondal Gandul Band. The selection of songs is not only for entertainment, but also carries a message of togetherness and a spirit of awakening.

Unlike previous years, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government ensured that it would not hold a fireworks festival on New Year's Eve. The decision was taken as a form of empathy for victims of disasters in various regions.

In addition, each series of events is said to be preceded by a joint prayer and reflection at all points of celebration. This step is intended as a collective reflection in welcoming the new year.

As a substitute for fireworks, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has prepared a drone-based video mapping show with a theme of concern for Sumatra and other disaster-affected areas.

Meanwhile, the police have closed access to Jalan Jenderal Sudirman-MH Thamrin in order to carry out the car free night (CFN) to welcome New Year's Eve, which began at 17.55 WIB.

In addition, a number of parking lots have been provided at several points in the HI roundabout area to support the smooth running of the event. Until this news was published, the event is still ongoing and is scheduled to be completed at 01.00 WIB.
