Polda Metro Jaya Handles 93 Cases of TPPO and PPA Throughout 2025

JAKARTA - The Directorate of Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimum) of the Metro Jaya Police recorded significant achievements in handling human trafficking (TPPO) and the protection of women and children (PPA) throughout 2025.

Director of Criminal Investigation of the Polda Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Pol Iman Imanuddin, said that handling vulnerable groups, women, and children was one of the main focuses of his party during the current year.

"There are four main things that we convey as part of the implementation of the main duties of the Criminal Investigation Unit, namely the protection of vulnerable groups, women and children, and the eradication of human trafficking crimes," said Iman in the 2025 Year-end Release of the Polda Metro Jaya at the BPMJ Building, Wednesday, December 31, 2025.

Iman revealed that 2025 is likely to be the last year that the Sub Directorate of Criminal Protection of Women and Children and Human Trafficking (TPPA and TPPO) is under the auspices of the Criminal Investigation Unit. Starting in 2026, the sub-directorate is planned to be upgraded to the Directorate of Criminal Protection of Women and Children and Human Trafficking.

"This status improvement is a form of institutional commitment in strengthening protection for vulnerable groups and eradicating TPPO," he said.

Throughout 2025, the Ditreskrimum of the Polda Metro Jaya handled a total of 93 cases, consisting of 16 TPPO cases and 77 cases of protection for women and children. From this handling, the police have named 34 suspects in the TPPO case and 29 suspects in the PPA case.

Iman explained that a number of prominent cases had been revealed, including a case of the spread of pornography accompanied by extortion, as well as the disclosure of a child trafficking network that sent victims to one of the regions in Indonesia.

"The victim was successfully rescued, returned to his parents, and received state protection through the Ministry of Social Affairs," he explained.

He emphasized that all cases were handled with a humanistic approach that placed victims as the main priority. This approach, according to him, has an impact on reducing crime rates against vulnerable groups.

"As a result, by 2025, the number of crimes against vulnerable groups will decrease by 8.82 percent compared to 2024," he said.

Iman added that this achievement is an indicator of the seriousness of the Metro Jaya Police in handling TPPO and PPA, with a focus on victim protection, psychological recovery, and prevention of community-based crimes.
