Drone at Putin's Residence Carried High-Explosive Material
JAKARTA - The Russian Defense Ministry said that one of the Ukrainian drones that was directed to President Vladimir Putin's residence carried a high-explosive charge weighing six kilograms, based on an analysis of the debris of the drone that was shot down.
In a video released by the ministry on Wednesday, December 31, a Russian military personnel said the results of the examination showed that the drone was a variant of the Chaklun-V with a high explosive warhead weighing six kilograms or about 13 pounds.
r As reported by ANTARA from Sputnik/RIA Novosti, the statement followed Moscow's claim that Ukraine had launched a large-scale attack on Russian territory in recent days, including targeting sensitive areas where the president's residence is located.
Earlier on Monday, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said Ukraine had launched an attack using 91drones overnight, from December 28 to 29, targeting the Russian president's residence in the Novgorod region.
Lavrov emphasized that all the drones were intercepted and destroyed by the Russian air defense system, without causing any casualties or significant damage at the target location.
"As a result of the analysis of the Ukrainian drone that was successfully shot down, one of the Chaklun-V modifications with a high explosive warhead weighing six kilograms was found," a soldier said in a video released by the ministry.
