TNI AD Dispatches 5,000 Personnel to Secure New Year's Eve 2026 in Jakarta

JAKARTA - The Army through Kodam Jaya/Jayakarta held a Unit Title Apel as part of the readiness to secure the New Year's Eve 2026. The apel took place at the Monas Cross Field, Jakarta, Wednesday (31/12/2025).

Apel was led by the Chief of Staff of Kodam Jaya/Jayakarta Zulhadrie S. Mara and involved TNI elements from three branches - Land, Sea, and Air - with a strength of around 5,000 personnel. Troops were on alert at a number of strategic points in the DKI Jakarta area and its surroundings to secure the series of Christmas celebrations until New Year's Eve.

In his instructions, the Head of the Jaya Police stated that the title of the unit was aimed at ensuring the readiness of personnel and supporting facilities in anticipating potential security vulnerabilities at the turn of the year.

"In the midst of the grief due to natural disasters that have occurred in several regions of Indonesia, the public is urged not to immerse themselves in excessive euphoria, but to use the momentum of the new year as a means of introspection and self-reflection so that in the future it will be better," said Brigadier General Zulhadrie.

In addition to personnel readiness, the apple was filled with checking Kodam Jaya tactical vehicles, fire trucks, and other supporting equipment. This step is part of the commitment of the TNI AD in supporting the creation of a safe, orderly, and conducive situation during the New Year's Eve celebration 2026 in Jakarta and its surroundings.
