The Victim Died After a Miras Party in Jember Increased to 6 People
JEMBER - The number of victims who died after attending a liquor party in Jember Regency, East Java, increased from four to six people.
"We received four patients suspected of consuming alcoholic beverages, one female patient is dead and the other three patients are critical when brought to the hospital," said Head of Medical Services and Support at RSD Dr. Soebandi Jember, Dr. Triwiranto, as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, December 31.
Previously, eight people held a party with 25 bottles of alcohol at one of the gasebo stalls in Jember Lor Village, Patrang District, Jember Regency, on Saturday (27/12) night until Sunday (28/12) morning.
Two of the eight people were reported dead on Sunday (28/12), namely a woman with the initials MR, a resident of Patrang District, and a Bintara Pembina Desa (Babinsa) personnel in Sumbersari District with the initials PT.
Then on Monday (29/12) it was reported that three more participants in the alcohol party died, namely AM, ST, and SL, all of whom were residents of Patrang District.
The death toll increased again after the participant with the initials MM breathed his last breath at the RSD dr Soebandi Jember on Tuesday (30/12) night.
"The patient was admitted to the hospital on Tuesday (30/12) morning in critical condition, then in the evening the patient died," said Dr. Triwiranto.
He explained that the results of the examination and treatment since the patient entered the Emergency Room (IGD) had indeed found severe disorders and damage to organ functions that could cause death.
"Based on the analysis of his blood test, there was a fairly severe disorder and the patient was indeed in critical condition when he entered the hospital," he explained.
The head of the Jember Police, Deputy Commissioner of Police Bobby A. Condroputra, has not been confirmed regarding the handling of the case of a liquor party that resulted in six people dying.
