Proof of Commitment to Easy Claim Service, BRI Insurance Pays IDR 253.8 Million for 188 Customers Affected by the Semeru Eruption
JAKARTA - PT BRI Asuransi Indonesia, or better known as BRI Insurance (BRINS), has once again demonstrated its commitment to providing protection for micro-entrepreneurs. On December 23, 2025, BRI Insurance handed over the payment of the Ultra Micro KTU Insurance claim with a total value of IDR 253,800,000 to customers in the Jember area and its surroundings.
The submission of this claim is intended for 188 customers whose businesses were affected by the eruption of Mount Semeru. The handover ceremony was held directly in Pronojiwo, Lumajang, East Java.
Present at the symbolic event for the submission of the claim was Adit Sulistiyo as the Head of the Jember Branch of MRO Jember BRI Insurance, together with Ade Cresna as the Head of the Jember PNM Branch. This synergy emphasizes the importance of insurance protection for ultra-micro customers (Mekaar) who have a high risk of natural uncertainty.
"This is a form of commitment from BRI Insurance in providing protection and certainty for customers when facing risks. We want to ensure that in difficult times, customers are not alone," said Adit Sulistiyo.
The President Director of BRI Insurance, Budi Legowo, through a separate confirmation in Jakarta, Wednesday, December 31, conveyed his concern over the disaster that befell the customers.
"We hope that the payment of claims can ease the burden of the insured to recover his business. BRI Insurance is committed to providing optimal services as a reliable and trusted partner for protection solutions," said Budi.
Appreciation also came from the PNM. Ade Cresna expressed his gratitude for the speed of the claim service from BRI Insurance. He emphasized that disasters can happen at any time, so having insurance against losses is very crucial for the community, especially in disaster-prone areas.
Sutiyem is one of the customers who received the claim expressing his gratitude for the assistance received. According to him, the easy claim process gives new hope to rebuild his business which had been halted due to the eruption.
"I am very grateful for this KTU compensation. This is a tangible proof that BRI Insurance is really present when customers need it," said Sutiyem.
