RAT 2025: 74.013 Police Reports Enter Polda Metro Jaya
JAKARTA - Polda Metro Jaya recorded the highest number of police reports in Indonesia throughout 2025. The total reports received reached 74,013 cases, or accounted for around 16 percent of the total crime reports nationally.
This was conveyed by the Head of the Metro Jaya Police, Inspector General of Police Asep Edi Suheri, in the 2025 Year-End Release (RAT) held at the Metro Jaya Meeting Hall (BPMJ), South Jakarta, on Wednesday, December 31, 2025.
According to him, the number of police reports is the highest in Indonesia.
"By 2025, the Metro Jaya Police will be one of the regional police with the highest number of police reports in Indonesia, with a contribution of around 16 percent of the total national reports," he said.
Asep said that in addition to handling criminal reports, his party also escorted various demonstrations that took place in the DKI Jakarta area and its surroundings throughout the year.
Asep emphasized that security was carried out by upholding the rights of the public to express their opinions, without neglecting security and order stability.
"Our main principle is that we will strive to maintain a balance between fulfilling the rights of citizens to express their aspirations, but safety and other community activities must also be maintained," he said.
Furthermore, in the traffic sector, the Metro Police also recorded 13,184 accidents throughout 2025. Of these, 740 people died, while 16,038 others were injured.
Then, in an effort to reduce the number of accidents, his party implemented concrete steps, such as traffic engineering, law enforcement, to technology-based supervision.
"One of the efforts that have been carried out is electronic enforcement, including issuing fines and reprimands as many as 893,023 times. This technological approach continues to be optimized by us to improve road user safety," he explained.
On that occasion, Asep also conveyed that throughout 2025, the Directorate of Criminal Investigation of the Metro Jaya Police had uncovered 2,425 prominent cases. Meanwhile, in the field of narcotics, 7,426 cases were recorded which were handled with a number of suspects reaching 9,494 people.
"In the case of cybercrime, his party received and handled 2,625 reports of cybercrime, which was dominated by online fraud and illegal access, including online gambling practices," he concluded.
