Atalia Praratya Attend Divorce Hearing, Lawyer Denies Third Party Issue

BANDUNG - Member of the Indonesian House of Representatives Atalia Praratya attended the continuation of the divorce lawsuit against former West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil at the Bandung Religious Court today.

The trial is scheduled to report the results of the mediation and the next stage of examination.

Atalia arrived at the Bandung Religious Court at around 09.40 WIB with her legal team. She was wearing a cream-colored shirt paired with a black long skirt.

"Just pray. There are many series, please pray only," Atalia briefly told reporters before entering the courtroom, reported by Antara, Wednesday, December 31.

Atalia Praratya's lawyer, Debi Agusfriansa, said his client would follow all the series of trials that had been scheduled by the panel of judges, including the agenda to present witnesses.

"Today the agenda is to report the results of the mediation, then the reading of the lawsuit, the answer, the possibility of replications and duplications, presenting two witnesses, and finally the conclusion," said Debi.

He explained, the Bandung Religious Court together with both parties agreed to accelerate the trial process after the mediation between Atalia Praratya and Ridwan Kamil was declared complete.

"Usually, it takes one month if the mediation drags on. However, the results of the mediation came out on Friday, December 17, and both parties agreed. Therefore, today was immediately scheduled," he said.

Debi also emphasized that the divorce lawsuit filed by his client was not related to other parties whose names had circulated in the public sphere.

"Names that are circulating such as AK, LM, or SM have never been in the contents of the lawsuit. We are surprised by the various speculations that have emerged. In fact, our client and the defendant have been separated for six months," said Debi.
