Block 231 Thousand Content and Arrest 741 Suspects, DPR Ask the National Police to Strengthen Cooperation with Komdigi to Eradicate Judol
Member of Commission I of the Indonesian House of Representatives Syamsu Rizal, appreciates the firm steps of the Indonesian National Police (Polri) which has blocked 231,517 online gambling content (judol) and arrested 741 suspects involved in online gambling practices during 2025.
According to him, the steps taken by the National Police prove the seriousness of law enforcement officials in protecting the public from the destructive impact of online gambling which damages the family economy and social order.
"The steps taken by the National Police should be appreciated. The blocking of hundreds of thousands of accounts and the arrest of hundreds of suspects show that the state is present against digital crimes that are very detrimental to society," said Syamsu Rizal, Wednesday, December 31.
Even so, Syamsu Rizal emphasized that efforts to eradicate online gambling should not stop at blocking accounts alone. He asked the National Police to continue to strengthen cooperation with the Ministry of Communication and Digital (Komdigi) so that the handling of judol is carried out comprehensively and sustainably.
"Blocking is important, but more importantly, uncovering and breaking the network of online gambling that operates in Indonesia, including intellectual actors and their financial flows. Eradicate judol to the roots," he said.
Furthermore, the PKB Legislator from the South Sulawesi I District emphasized that the war against online gambling must be carried out consistently and without compromise. Syamsu Rizal also reminded that there should be no law enforcement officers or authorities who are actually backing or protecting the practice of online gambling.
"No officer should play two feet. If anyone is proven to be backing the judokas, they must be dealt with firmly. This is about the integrity of the country and public confidence," said the man, who is familiarly called Deng Ical.
According to him, online gambling has become a serious threat to the younger generation and social stability. Therefore, he emphasized that the war against online gambling must continue to be encouraged through strict law enforcement, cross-agency collaboration, and massive public education.
"The country must not lose. Online gambling is a common enemy and must be fought seriously and sustainably," he concluded.
