Xiaomi to Attack the Car Market, Four Models Ready to Launch in 2026

JAKARTA - 2026 seems to be Xiaomi's busiest year, because the Chinese manufacturer is expected to launch various car models, including updates from the current ones.

Citing the Carnewschina website, Wednesday, December 31, according to local media reports, Xiaomi plans to launch a revised version of the SU7, a 7-seat EREV SUV, an executive version of the SU7, and a 5-seat EREV SUV.

The first two models are planned to be released in the first half of 2026, while the last two models are planned for the second half to the end of 2026.

Previously, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun and his team traveled to Xinjiang China, to test the vehicle. Some spy photos revealed that the model is a 7-seater SUV.

The model will pack the EREV with a battery with a capacity of more than 70 kWh, providing a pure electric driving range of 400 to 500 km.

Meanwhile, the executive version of the Xiaomi SU7, is positioned as a sedan with a long wheelbase. And it is predicted that there will be many changes oriented towards comfort in the rear passenger compartment.

Actually, Xiaomi's planning for EREV technology has been going on for some time. Since 2023, Xiaomi has shown its commitment to EREV through recruitment in 20 positions related to this field.
