Anticipating Traffic Jams, KAI Implements BLB at Jatinegara Station Ahead of New Year's Eve

JAKARTA - KAI Daop 1 Jakarta said that a number of long-distance train trips made an extraordinary stop (BLB) at Jatinegara Station starting Wednesday, December 31, 2025 afternoon to Thursday early morning January 1, 2026.

"This Extraordinary Stop designation is an effort to provide service so that customers can continue to travel safely, comfortably, and on time, even though there is a potential for traffic congestion on New Year's Eve," said KAI Jakarta Public Relations Manager Daop 1, Franoto Wibowo when confirmed.

This step was taken because it was predicted that traffic flow would experience congestion around Gambir Station on the night of the 2025-2026 New Year.

BLB's steps are also carried out as an effort to anticipate maintaining the smooth running of passenger services.

With the additional stop at Jatinegara Station, customers still have an alternative departure point without affecting the train travel schedule.

Franoto said the adjustment did not change the train departure schedule as stated on the ticket.

"We are preparing Jatinegara Station as an alternative access for customers. The travel schedule still refers to the time that has been set, so customers are advised to pay attention to the departure time and come early to the station," he said.

As a form of information service, KAI Daop 1 Jakarta has conveyed the notification to customers via SMS and WhatsApp blast.

Customers are also urged to plan their trip to the station by considering traffic conditions. If access to Gambir Station is experiencing difficulties, Jatinegara Station can be used as an alternative boarding point.
