146 Houses Damaged in Lebak Banten Due to Extreme Weather Throughout December 2025, 1 Person Died

JAKARTA - A total of 146 houses in Lebak Regency, Banten, were damaged due to extreme weather throughout December 2025 and one resident was reported dead.

"We ask the public to remain aware of extreme weather until February 2026 based on reports from the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG)," said the Head of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Lebak Regency, Sukanta, when contacted in Lebak, Tuesday, December 30, quoted by Antara.

The damage to the residents' houses in Lebak Regency was caused by extreme weather characterized by heavy rain accompanied by strong winds and lightning.

Most of those whose houses were damaged were affected by landslides, floods, strong winds and soil movement.

BPBD Lebak said that as many as 146 houses were damaged, consisting of 56 units of heavy damage, 58 units of light damage and 32 units of moderate damage.

People whose houses collapsed were forced to evacuate to their relatives' houses.

Of the 146 houses, he said, a resident of Cipayung Village, Cipanas District, Lebak Regency, was reported to have died after his house was hit by the debris.

The victim at that time, said Sukanta, was sleeping soundly at night which happened a week ago.

Therefore, the BPBD Lebak has reported the disaster incident to the leadership and also distributed logistics to the victims of natural disasters.

The distribution of logistics is to ease the economic burden of people affected by disasters so that their food needs are met.

"We prioritize the need for basic services to disaster victims so that their lives are well served, so that they can reduce the risk of disasters," said Sukanta.
