Viral on Social Media, Motor Thief Arrested while Sleeping at Home

JAKARTA - A (35) a motor thief who often acts in the Koja area was successfully arrested by the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Koja Police on Tuesday, December 30, 2025.

The perpetrator with the initials A was arrested after being caught stealing a white Yamaha Mio J motorcycle and a red maroon Yamaha Fino. The incident also went viral on social media.

The head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Koja Police, AKP Fernando, said that the perpetrator with the initials A was arrested while resting at his house.

"The perpetrator was arrested while he was at home, then ambushed," said AKP Fernando when confirmed, Tuesday, December 30, 2025.

The arrest of the perpetrator with the initials A was strengthened by the existence of CCTV camera footage and witness statements.

AKP Fernando continued, the perpetrator carried out his actions on Jalan Gang Sawal Raya No.11 RT.002/003 Kelurahan Tugu Selatan, Koja District, North Jakarta.

Based on the CCTV footage from the crime scene and the testimony of witnesses, one name was obtained that was suspected to be similar to the perpetrator.

Then the operational picket conducted an investigation. And from the results of the investigation, it was suspected that the perpetrator was at home.

"The perpetrator has been detained at the Koja Police and is still being further developed," he said.
