BYD Prepares a New SUV Caught on Camera during a Test Drive

JAKARTA - BYD is expected to be preparing new ammunition for next year. This brand is predicted to present a new SUV and the model was caught on camera being tested.

Based on a report from Autohome, Tuesday, December 30, seen from the logo on the wheels and steering wheel, this car will be included in the BYD Yuan series and is expected to be named Yuan MAX in the future.

Judging from the spy photos, this new car is still covered with thick camouflage, but its front is expected to adopt BYD's signature design style, similar to the Yuan Plus.

The side profile shows a somewhat hidden door handle, and the rear of the C-pillar looks longer. Based on the shape of the rear quarter window, its dimensions will be extended to approach the dimensions of the Song Pro.

For comparison, the BYD Yuan PLUS has a length of 4,455 mm with a wheelbase of 2,720 mm, and the Song Pro has a length of 4,735 mm with a wheelbase of 2,712 mm.

Inside, the new car retains the signature BYD family design style, featuring a floating center control screen, a large LCD instrument panel and a two-spoke steering wheel.

Under the screen is a wireless charging pad for the phone, with a physical button behind it, and further back is a button to set the temperature. The car also adopts a gear lever design in the steering column that is thick with Chinese brands lately.
