SORONG - The Sorong City Police have named five suspects in a case of alleged corruption in the procurement of uniforms and attributes of the DPRP of the South West Papua Province (PBD) for the 2024 Fiscal Year with a contract value of more than Rp1 billion.
Sorong City Police Chief Kombes Amry Siahaan said the case was related to the provision of uniforms and attributes of the DPRP of South West Papua worth Rp1.010 billion sourced from the 2024 Fiscal Year APBD.
"In handling corruption cases, we must ensure that there is state loss. This is in accordance with the principle of the rule of law, there must be legal certainty," said Amry in Sorong, Antara, Tuesday, December 30.
In the implementation of procurement, there was a discrepancy between the items listed in the contract and the goods realized. This condition has an impact on the emergence of state financial losses.
Based on the results of the calculation of the Financial Audit Agency (BPK), the total state loss in this case reached IDR 715 million.
For their actions, the suspects were charged with Article 2 and/or Article 3 of Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning Amendments to Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Corruption Crimes, related to enriching themselves or others to the detriment of state finances.

During the investigation process, the police also seized a number of evidence, including contract documents, order notes, clothing provision documents, 105 items of goods, as well as billing documents and other supporting documents.
Afriangga explained that the five suspects had different roles, ranging from the ordering party, technical implementation officials (PPTK), the provider or owner of the contractor company, to the party who received the flow of funds and assisted in the procurement process.
"The suspects include those from within and outside the agency. We will provide complete identities and positions after all the suspects have met with investigators," he said.
