Report 216 Villages Drowned in mud to the DPR Leadership, Regent of Aceh Tamiang: We Need Heavy Equipment Sir
JAKARTA - The Regent of Aceh Tamiang, Armia Pahmi, reported to the leadership of the DPR and the central government that as many as 216 villages were totally paralyzed and submerged in mud. Armia asked the government to send heavy equipment to clean up the mud and facilitate evacuation.
This was conveyed by Armia in a coordination meeting of the Post-Disaster Recovery Task Force for Sumatra held by the leadership of the Indonesian House of Representatives in Aceh today, Tuesday, December 30.
Armia said that until now, his party together with the TNI-Polri continues to strive to carry out post-disaster recovery from floods and landslides in the Aceh Tamiang area.
"Please allow us to report the development for Aceh Tamiang, we report 12 sub-districts with 216 villages in our area, all of which are affected by flash floods, and all of them are paralyzed by the government, TNI-Polri and the economy," said Armia in a meeting broadcast live on the official channel of the DPR RI on Tuesday, December 30.
"We have been trying for a month, we have risen, thank God we have been helped from BNPB, from the TNI Polri, currently the number of TNI is around 3,385 people, the Polri has 877 people who are in BKO to Aceh Tamiang, all working hard to handle the mud to the villages because this is what causes the economy to collapse," he continued.
Armia reported a number of developments in Aceh Tamiang. For electricity, he said, it is now on. "Alhamdulillah and there is a Telkomsel signal, thank you," he said.
then for the economic center, Armia is grateful after the mud was cleaned there were kaget markets that started selling. "Are they vegetables, selling eggs and so on and we have cleaned our market, and if it is 100 percent clean, we will put the sellers into the market because it does not disturb the traffic flow in front of it," he said.
Then for traffic and logistics, Armia said it was also smooth from Medan to Banda Aceh and vice versa. Although according to him, there are still several roads that are jammed because of the condition of the asphalt that is starting to be porous or potholed.
"Now the problem in our villages is that we need a lot of heavy equipment, because we have 216 villages, all of which have mud, so this mud must be resolved immediately within a month so that the community is somewhat safe in carrying out activities for the economy and agriculture," he said.
"Because frankly, more than 8,000 hectares of rice fields we are all buried in mud, but there are farmers who are stubborn on the mud, he still plants rice, we'll see how it turns out, God willing, we can try," continued the retired police officer.
Armia also reported that the worst bridges were in four villages. Namely in Balingkarang village, Pematangdurian, Lubuksiduk and Pangkalan village. He asked the government to immediately build an emergency bridge.
"Please ask permission from Mr. Kasad, the Tamiang river has widened and is shallow. But if the emergency bridge is not possible to build there because of the length that is not possible for that, because it is prone, but there is one village that can possibly make an emergency bridge because this is our lifeline to be able to go to the city. We have also reported to BNPB, Mr. Dandim to be able to immediately propose to install the bridge," he concluded.
The coordination meeting of the Sumatra Post-Disaster Recovery Task Force held by the DPR RI was attended by the Deputy Speaker of the DPR RI, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, Saan Mustopa and Cucun Ahmad Syamsurijal.
