The Head of the DPR Meeting for Post-disaster Recovery in Aceh, Governor Mualem hopes that the construction of infrastructure and housing will continue to be carried out immediately.

JAKARTA - The leadership of the Indonesian House of Representatives held a meeting with the central government and the Aceh regional government, including the governor to the regent in the most affected areas of the flood and landslide disasters that occurred late last November. This meeting is a coordination meeting facilitated by the leadership of the DPR in the context of post-disaster recovery in Tanah Rencong.

The coordination meeting of the Post-Disaster Recovery Task Force for Sumatra, which was held by the DPR RI, was attended by the Deputy Chairmen of the DPR RI, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, Saan Mustopa and Cucun Ahmad Syamsurijal. As well as the Minister of Home Affairs, Minister of Public Works, Minister of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia, Minister of Social Affairs and Deputy Minister of Social Affairs, Minister of Finance, Deputy Head of BNPB, Deputy Minister of Digital Communications, Emergency Task Force for Bridges, Mr. Maruli, Special Envoy for Youth Affairs, and President Director of PT Telkomsel and President Director of PLN.

"Especially today, the meeting was deliberately held and facilitated by the Indonesian House of Representatives in the context of post-disaster recovery. We realize that after handling yesterday's disaster, friends from the TNI, Polri, Pemda, and volunteers have worked hard, so in this post-disaster recovery we need to work together to coordinate to focus on things that will be handled in post-disaster recovery," said Deputy Speaker of the DPR Sufmi Dasco Ahmad in a meeting broadcast on the official channel of the DPR RI on Tuesday, December 30.

"So there needs to be synergy between the Ministry and Institutions, Local Government, DPR, and SOEs to equalize perceptions and focus on what is efficient in terms of focus budgets and there is no overlap," he continued.

Dasco revealed that the implementation of today's coordination meeting had been reported to President Prabowo Subianto who was also scheduled to visit Aceh on Wednesday, December 31 tomorrow.

"In the hope that next year in the 2026 budget, post-disaster recovery can run as it should," said the Chairman of the DPP Harian Gerindra Party.

Before the Ministry and Institutions synchronize concrete steps for post-disaster recovery, Dasco invited the Governor of Aceh and the regents in the most affected areas to submit reports related to the situation in their areas.

"Before the Ministry and Institutions synchronize what has been, is being, and will be done, I invite the Governor of Aceh Province and several Regional Heads and Regents who are severely affected to attend and express their views, in order to complete the communication that has been carried out through WhatsApp and telephone today I think it needs to be completed so that it can be realized immediately," said Dasco.

Opening his report, Aceh Governor Muzakir Manaf (Mualem) said that the Aceh government had moved quickly by establishing an emergency response case, evacuating, distributing logistical assistance, and health services. However, he realized that handling this disaster requires strong and sustainable support from the central government.

"Therefore, this coordination meeting is a strategic momentum in unifying perceptions, aligning policies, and strengthening synergy between the DPR RI, ministries, and also institutions, SOEs, and local governments so that recovery can run quickly and accurately and be fair," said Mualem in a coordination meeting with the DPR and the central government in Aceh.

Mualem hopes that this coordination meeting can accelerate post-disaster recovery in Aceh, as well as other affected areas. Especially the acceleration of the construction of residents' houses, infrastructure, and other assistance.

"We hope that this meeting will produce concrete steps, especially the acceleration of infrastructure recovery, the acceleration of the provision of temporary housing, permanent housing for affected people, the strengthening of social protection, and clarity of funding schemes and the division of roles between parties in an integrated manner," said Mualem.
