Bantul Dispatches Sanitation Officers to Tourist Attractions at the End of the Year Holiday

BANTUL - The Bantul Regency Tourism Office, Yogyakarta Special Region has alerted sanitation officers or garbage collectors in tourist areas to anticipate a surge in garbage during the long holiday at the end of the year.

"In addition to our toll service officers, we also alert garbage officers or garbage collectors at tourist attractions during this holiday season," said the Head of the Bantul Tourism Office, Saryadi, in Bantul, Antara, Tuesday, December 30.

His party did not mention the details of the sanitation personnel in the tourist area, but at least 120 people were deployed for various services to tourists at all tourist attractions in Bantul.

"These garbage officers are needed, because coincidentally, the end of the year holiday season coincides with the rainy season, so in addition to tourist garbage, the garbage sent from the river is quite potential," he said.

However, he said, all tourists visiting tourist attractions are asked to be responsible for their own garbage, by not throwing garbage indiscriminately, but in the provided garbage cans.

"We hope that tourists can still go on vacation safely, comfortably, and happily in Bantul," he said.

Furthermore, he said, because the year-end holidays coincide with the rainy season, his party will always update weather and environmental conditions to be informed through government social media, so that they can be a reference and vigilance for tourists.

"Because the agreement with the Tourism Office for DIY at this time there is no closure of tourist attractions in DIY, but to always communicate with the parties concerned about weather and natural disasters, so that we can mitigate when natural disasters occur," he said.

The Bantul Tourism Office also appealed to tourists, especially those visiting the beach, to avoid bathing in the sea, pay attention to the signs provided by officers for safety.
