US Announces Boeing to Develop Israel's F-15 Fighter Jet Program Worth USD8.6 Billion

JAKARTA - The Pentagon announced that Boeing had just won a contract worth USD8.6 billion for the Israeli F-15 fighter program.

The contract was signed after US President Donald Trump met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Florida.

"This contract includes the design, integration, instrumentation, testing, production, and delivery of 25 new F-15IA aircraft for the Israeli Air Force with options for an additional 25 F-15IA aircraft," the Pentagon said in a statement quoted by Reuters, Tuesday, December 30.

The Pentagon said the contract involved the sale of military equipment to Israel. The US has long been the largest supplier of weapons to its closest ally in the Middle East.

Pro-Palestinian and anti-war demonstrators across the US have demanded an end to US military support for Israel because of its devastating impact on Gaza.

However, the demand has so far been considered a passing wind by the US Government since it was led by Joe Biden to Donald Trump.

The process of continuing this contract will be carried out in St. Louis, and is expected to be completed on December 31, 2035.
