Prevent Waste Accumulation, DLH Jakarta Prepares Thousands of Personnel at Tourist Centers
JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Environmental Service (DLH) has deployed 1,095 personnel to maintain the cleanliness of Jakarta tourist attractions during the Christmas 2025 and New Year 2026 public holidays.
Head of DKI Jakarta DLH Asep Kuswanto said that supervision and handling of cleanliness were focused on the Ancol area, the Prasasti Museum, and the Literacy Park.
Then, at the Jakarta International Velodrome, Old City, Setu Babakan, M Bloc Space, Blok M Hub, Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII), and Untung Java Island.
"We want to ensure that tourist areas remain clean, safe, and comfortable during the long Christmas and New Year holidays," said Asep.
According to him, waste management at the tourist location is also carried out by deploying and strengthening coordination with local area managers.
He also hopes that the effort will be supported by the participation of visitors, especially by throwing away garbage in its place and reducing the use of disposable plastic.
Meanwhile, especially on New Year's Eve, the DKI DLH deployed 3,395 sanitation personnel to anticipate the accumulation of garbage and ensure that Jakarta is clean the next day.
Of this number, as many as 2,300 officers, including those on alert in a number of strategic areas, including Monas, HI roundabout, and along the MH Thamrin-Sudirman corridor, while another 1,095 officers are spread across five administrative areas of Jakarta and the Thousand Islands.
