In the Winning Path, AS Roma Defeated Genoa 3 -1
JAKARTA - AS Roma returned to the winning track after defeating Genoa with a landslide score of 3-1 at the Olimpico Stadium, Rome, Monday local time. Even though last week Roma lost 1-2 to Juventus, according to the Serie A record.
Matias Soule, Manu Kone and Evan Ferguson, as reported by Antara, scored Roma's three goals, while Genoa narrowed the gap from Jeff Ekhator's goal.
Roma now occupy fourth place in the Italian League standings with 33 points from 17 matches or three points below Inter Milan who topped the standings.
On the other hand, Genoa is in 17th place with 14 points from 17 matches.
Roma opened the floodgates in the 14th minute after a shot from outside the penalty area by Matias Soule nestled in the Genoa goal.
The Giallorossi doubled the lead in the 19th minute thanks to Manu Kone's goal after receiving a pass from Evan Ferguson.
Gian Piero Gasperini's team changed the score again to 3-0 in the 31st minute thanks to Evan Ferguson's goal.
Roma continued to attack, but could not add a goal.
Towards the end of the match, Genoa narrowed the gap with Jeff Ekhator's goal after defeating Roma goalkeeper Mile Svilar in the 87th minute.
