Case of Stock Fraud at PT Bososi Pratama: Kariatun Officially Becomes a Suspect and DPO

JAKARTA - The case of alleged fraud and embezzlement of PT Bososi Pratama shares has entered a new phase. The South Sulawesi Regional Police (Sultra) has now increased the status of handling the case to the investigation stage and named Kariatun as the main suspect.

This information was confirmed by Usman Nuzuly, SH. M.H., as the lawyer for the reporter, Andi Uci Abdul Hakim. In his statement on Friday (26/12/2025), Usman explained that Kariatun was suspected of violating Articles 378 and 372 of the Criminal Code regarding the crime of fraud and embezzlement.

Chronology of the Modus of Investment in the Fictitious Smelter

This case began at the end of 2014. At that time, Kariatun invited Andi Uci Abdul Hakim to work together to build a smelter in the IUP area of PT Bososi Pratama. To convince the Chinese investor, Kariatun persuaded Andi to make a proforma deed.

"Kariatun asked for an act to be made as if there was a transfer of shares from Andi Uci Abdul Hakim and Retno Handayani to Kariatun and Hendra. The goal is for investors to believe that Kariatun is the legitimate owner of the shares," said Usman.

However, instead of building a smelter, the shares were instead unilaterally transferred to Kariatun's son, Jason Kariatun, without the consent of Andi Uci Abdul Hakim.

Determination of Suspects and Person Search List (DPO)

Based on the results of the investigation by the Criminal Investigation Unit of the South Sulawesi Police, investigators found sufficient initial evidence to establish Kariatun as a suspect. However, the suspect was known to have fled when he was about to be examined.

The police finally issued an Orang Search List (DPO) with the number: DPO/15/III/RES.1.24/2025/Ditreskrimum dated March 14, 2025. In addition to Kariatun, the names of Hendra and Jason Kariatun are also suspected of being involved in the scheme of losses suffered by the victim.

Revealed through a civil lawsuit

Andi Uci Abdul Hakim only realized the illegal transfer of shares in 2017. This was revealed when Jason Kariatun filed a civil lawsuit at the Makassar PN with a claim as a shareholder of PT Bososi Pratama obtained from Kariatun.

Responding to this action, Andi Uci officially reported this case to the Sultra Police with Police Report Number: LP/B/496/IX/2021/SPKT Polda Sultra on September 30, 2021. Now, the legal representative urges the police to immediately secure the suspect to be legally accountable for his actions.
