Pramono Reveals 50 Regions Ask for Damkar Car Grants to Jakarta

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung revealed that around 50 regions in Indonesia have submitted proposals to be able to receive a grant for fire trucks (damkar) from the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government.

This was stated by Pramono when officially handing over operational service vehicles belonging to the DKI Jakarta Fire and Rescue Service (Gulkarmat) to be donated to 14 local governments outside Jakarta.

Of the 50 regions that submitted proposal submissions, the DKI Provincial Government only handed over 14 donated cars. Pramono opened the opportunity to re-select the regions that would be given vehicle grants in the future.

"This year we received proposals from more than 50 cities/regencies, so we will re-select from the 50 or more proposals that exist to see if they can receive from Jakarta. What is clear is that Jakarta is there for that," said Pramono at the Monas area, Monday, December 29.

Pramono explained the background of the DKI Provincial Government handing over the fire truck grant which was previously operated by the Gulkarmat Service. According to Pramono, there are still many areas that need operational vehicles for officers to put out fires in their areas.

"I see that the needs in that area are very large. Often with efinsiensi and so on, if you have to hold a new unit, it will definitely be a burden on the area," said Pramono.

The 14 regions that received the damkar car grant this year are Bekasi City, Semarang City, South Tangerang City, Ambon City, Padang Panjang City, South Minahasa Regency, Kediri Regency, Purbalingga Regency, Pesawaran Regency, Cianjur Regency, Poso Regency, West Coast Regency, Minahasa Regency, and Karo Regency.

Pramono explained that the fire truck grant was last carried out in 2022 and is currently being rolled out again in the midst of the region's need for adequate firefighting fleets. He ensured that all vehicles donated were still operational.

"The condition of the donated fire extinguishers has certainly received optimal checks. There are 14 vehicles, consisting of 2 vehicles with 10,000 liters, 8 vehicles with 4,000 liters, and 4 vehicles with 2,500 liters," said Pramono.

Pramono hopes that the grant will not only stop at the handover of assets, but continue in cooperation to increase human resource capacity. The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, he said, opened opportunities for recipient areas to carry out fire training in Jakarta.

"We want cooperation like this not only to be handed over. If you, Madam, brothers and sisters want to hold a fire drill in Jakarta, we will gladly accept it," explained Pramono.
