Almost All Hospitals to Health Centers in Affected Areas of Sumatra Recover

JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (Menko PMK) Pratikno announced that almost all hospitals up to Puskesmas have recovered in the affected areas of Sumatra.

This was conveyed at a press conference at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base, Jakarta, Monday, December 29.

Acceleration of the recovery of health services, according to Pratikno, is one of the main priorities to ensure access to public health services.

Pratikno said that out of a total of 867 puskesmas that were affected, only 8 units remained in the final recovery phase.

The government has also deployed massive medical personnel assistance to isolated areas. The delivery of volunteer doctors is focused on basic health services, minor surgery, and trauma healing.
